With sparse distribution，the amethyst was present in Chinese Shanxi，Xinjiang，Yunnan and Hubei and other places according to records，but did not form an enriched vein.Most of the amethysts produced in China have ordinary quality，only except those produced in Hubei Daye are of internationally reconginsed quality.Due to scarce yield，the amethyst is sought after by the collectors.
This amethyst monocrystal is produced in a floating manner and not damaged due to its contact with the rock at the bottom.The crystal is large and complete，with the visible standard hexagonal cone crystal shape at the top，and the obvious skeletal crystalcharacteristic at the bottom.The amethyst displays soft color transition，and is intergrowth with a small amount of red calcite.
